Attention all working moms! As a working mother balancing the time demands of career and family, have you ever doubted your ability to raise a successful child? If so, you're not alone.
Register today for the Dec. 9 Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce Working Mothers' Luncheon, where Michele Borba, Ed.D., will offer an inspiring discussion on how you can raise confident children who do not give in to the temptations of peer pressure.
Based on Borba's best-selling book, Building Moral Intelligence, you'll learn essential character-building skills that will help your child say "no," solve problems more amicably, think before acting and consider the needs of others. She'll raise your awareness on how you can parent for character.
A recognized expert on child development, violence prevention and character development, Borba's proposal, "Ending School Violence and Student Bullying," was signed into California law in 2002.
The Working Mothers' Luncheon will be Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the McKimmon Center for Extension and Continuing Education, 1101 Gorman St., Raleigh. The cost to attend is $35 per employee of member firms and $50 per non-member.
The Working Mothers' Luncheon Series provides quarterly luncheon programs that address the challenges working mothers face in today's business environment. Fathers and other caregivers are also welcome.
