CARY, N.C. -

Cary Ballet Conservatory's Ballet Company and their 3D Project jazz company will be performing excerpts from their festive annual holiday performace, Visions of Sugarplums, a modified version of the Nutcracker at Pottery Barn Kids at the Streets of Southpoint Mall in Durham on Sunday, December 7th at 6:30 PM. The dancers range in age from 6 -17 years old. The performance is open to the public and is free for all to attend,

The performance will help raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. While there is no charge for admission, audience members may make a donation to St. Jude if they wish, however are not required to do so. There will also be a number of free ticket giveaways to the full-length performance of Visions of Sugarplums on Sunday December 14th at Cary High School. Visions consists of exciting jazz dances by 3D@CBC, followed by a Nutcracker Suite by the Cary Ballet company with children's roles being danced by students of the Cary Ballet Conservatory. CBC donated tickets to Pottery Barn Kids who will be giving away tickets to customers who make donations. 100% of the money from the donations will go directly to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Vision of Sugarplums is the creation of Suzanne Liberte-Clark, the founder of Cary Ballet Conservatory. Visions is Clark's creative interpretation of the Holiday classic, The Nutcracker and includes both ballet and jazz numbers. It is extremely "kid friendly" and is a great afternoon of professional family entertainment at a family friendly price. There is also a Ballerina's Tea following the performance where children can meet the dancers while enjoying tea and cookies.

"We are very excited at this opportunity to help St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and to perform at Pottery Barn Kids," says Laliberte'-Clark. "One of our main objectives at CBC is to be a part of the community and to provide professional dance performances to our friends and neighbors in the Triangle area. While we are well known for our bigger seasonal shows, we also do many private performances at nursing homes, hospitals and other community organizations. The dancers really enjoy this opportunity to perform in these smaller intimate environments. While performing at the highest level is our main objective, we believe it is imperative to give back to the community. This is one example of our commitment."

The full length Visions of Sugarplums show will be running at Cary High School on Saturday, December 13th and Sunday, December 14th with shows at 2PM and 6PM. Tickets can be purchased by calling Cary Ballet Conservatory at (919) 481-6509.
