More than 100 Shaw University students packed the lobby of the North Carolina university president's office in a silent protest over poor dorm conditions.
Students at the school in Raleigh complained Thursday about moldy bathrooms, toilets that don't work and overcrowded dorm rooms.
The News & Observer reported that Shaw President Clarence Newsome met with the students, who also complained of insects and rodents.
One senior, Eugene Johnson, said the school is still housing five students per dorm room after the men's side of a dorm flooded when a sprinkler went off. Johnson also complained of mold in the building.
Newsome said the school is working to reduce its debts. He also asked the students to provide a list of problems and said the school would address them.

The comments by NJSux and LL are what is appalling.
Also allowing them to remain is very unprofessional.
I do not personal know Dr. Newsome. He is known to my wife, my brother-in-law (and his wife) and their cousins. They are direct descendants of Dr. Tupper. They have had only laudatory comments of Dr. Newsome. I am sure any less than desirable conditions will be addressed. And that they will also continue to recieve the opportunity of a top-rate education.

He should resign or the students should vote him out if his best interest isnt for the students on that campus. I would almost guarantee that he is pocketing alot of that money…

I work with colleges and a lot of them are just money making operations with little care for their students. This is appalling.
