Triangle Transit presented their transportation plan of the future to the Apex Town Council Tuesday.

This is a long term plan for Wake County introducing a total of 100 new buses and 17 miles of railway over a 35 year period.

The funding for the $750 million project would come from a $.05 sales tax and a $10 increase in vehicle registration in Wake County.

Officials with Triangle Transit said it would run from Durham to Raleigh and into Cary and Apex. They said the main goal of the plan is to increase growth in the entire triangle area.

Triangle Transit officials also stress that this is just a proposal and they are looking to leaders of Apex and other communities to help make changes that would fit their individual town's transportation needs.
