RALEIGH, N.C. -

Beverly Perdue is making her first trip to Washington as North Carolina's governor.

She's scheduled to be in the nation's capital on Wednesday for meetings with North Carolina's congressional delegation, the state's two senators and with President-elect Obama's transition team.

Perdue said this week the trip to Washington would be used to reinforce North Carolina's needs as Congress considers an economic stimulus plan. Perdue said she would release a list of the state's priorities.

The list is expected to include money for roads, bridges and other infrastructure. Perdue also has said she would like Congress to increase the federal government's Medicaid share, extend food stamp benefits and provide training for displaced workers.
