A local business is raising money for school kids with the help of the local community.
The Salem Street Pub on Salem Street brought in two guest bartenders to raise money for the Book Bag Bonanza sponsored by the Apex Chamber of Commerce.
With the money, book bags and school supplies will be provided to kids in Apex who need it most.
Pub owner Jennifer Duckart said events like this bring the community together for a good cause.
"We heard about Book Bag Bonanza and thought it was a great way to give back to the community. Along with familiarizing the customers with the pub, it also helps out the community," Duckart.
The restaurant is donating $250 to the cause and all the tips that the community bartenders make will also go to the fund.
