As part of their spring community service programming, The NAAAP North Carolina Chapter and IBM-Asian Diversity Networking Group are joining forces to present a “Be Healthy in the Spring” Family Fun Asian Health Fair offering FREE screenings, educational information, and door prizes for the fast-growing population of Asian Americans in the Triangle area.
The event will be held on April 4, 2009 (Saturday) from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cary Senior Center, which is located at 120 Maury O’Dell Place, Cary, NC 27513. The Center's phone number is (919) 469-4081. This event is free and open to the public.
This health fair focuses on diseases and health care issues that disproportionately affect Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, such as osteoporosis, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hepatitis B, cancer, and a shortage of bone marrow donor registrants.
This will be an educational, fun, and informative event for the family. For more information, please visit: http://april2009asianhealthfair.weebly.com/
About Us:
NAAAP (National Association of Asian-American Professionals) is a national, 501(c)(3), not-for-profit organization where Asian American professionals work together across the country to empower Asian American leadership, overcome barriers that impede our success, promote active participation within the community, and encourage Asian Americans to go into underrepresented professions and higher levels of responsibility.
The Asian Diversity Networking Group (ADNG) supports IBM business objectives by enhancing and leveraging the skills of our Asian employees through networking, mentoring and coaching. We work to foster the personal and professional growth of our members and build a sense of community.
The Cary Senior Center is a 17,000 square foot recreation and education facility designed by and for the adults 55 and older in Cary. The Senior Center was dedicated in December 2000 to enrich the lives of older adults throughout the community. It is the home of Resources for Seniors, Inc., an information and referral service; and SeniorNet, which provides computer resources and training to seniors.
