RALEIGH, N.C. -
It appears lightning may have struck the N.C. State Bell Tower. It happened just before 8 p.m Tuesday.
Students reported a loud bang and the smell of smoke in the area. Several pieces of the concrete tower apparently fell to the ground. The clock on the tower is now frozen at 7:55 p.m.
No one was injuried. Yellow tape now surrounds the tower.
