There are now a dozen confirmed cases of swine flu in North Carolina.
State health officials said Tuesday that they have confirmed a case in Rutherford County. That's the first case in the state that's not along the North Carolina's coast.
There are seven cases in Craven County, two cases in Carteret County and two cases in Onslow County. There are no probable cases under investigation.
Federal health officials have confirmed more than 3,000 cases of swine flu in the United States.
