CARY, N.C.

Cary, NC - Hopewell Academy will be holding its inaugural art show and sale, "Masterpieces: Past, Present, for the Future," to benefit the David R. Collins Fund for Creative Arts at Hopewell Academy.

"The Hopewell Academy Arts Fund was established to provide an increased opportunity for arts in the curriculum," said Carrie Franklin, Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) Co-Chair. "Arts education is such an important aspect of a child's development, and we want to insure the growth of such programs."

The art show will be Thursday, May 28th, at 7 p.m. at Hopewell Academy and will consist of art work by legendary artist Eugene Massin as well as other local and national artists. Local guitar favorite, Leanna Collins, will be the night's entertainment. Parents, faculty, guests and friends of Hopewell Academy are invited to attend. The suggested donation is $25.

"We expect the night to be a great success for the Hopewell Academy Arts Fund," said Amy Edge, Hopewell Academy parent and art show coordinator. "This show will be the first of many different fundraising projects to increase funding for arts education."

Massin's son Robin noted that this will be the first North Carolina showing of his father's work.

"The show will feature oils, water colors and sculptures by my father," said Robin Massin. "I am thrilled that the first North Carolina showing will be for such a great cause at Hopewell Academy."
