RALEIGH, N.C. -

Health officials confirmed Monday afternoon Wake County's first case of the H1N1 virus, or swine flu.

Dr. Elizabeth Tilson, interim community health director with the Wake County Health Department, said the individual is an adult female in her 40s.

Tilson said the person is being isolated at her home, and two family members are also being monitored for the virus.

The individual has no known travel to other parts of the country and at this time is not believed to be related to any other confirmed cases in the Triangle, Tilson said.

The case was confirmed Monday morning through a private lab after the individual was tested by her private physician.
