The Raleigh Police Department needs help in identifying a man they say could be responsible for two assaults and an attempted assaults that occurred along a short sections of the Glenwood Avenue Corridor.
1. At about 7:15 a.m. on the morning of June 16, a female victim was assaulted while walking in the parking lot of a shopping area in the 6500 block of Glenwood. She was grabbed from behind, forced to the ground and punched. After assaulting the victim, the suspect walked away from the scene, and the victim called police.
2. At about 10 a.m. on the morning of June 19, a female who was waiting to use a drive-up ATM in the 3500 block of W. Millbrook Road reported that the unknown male suspect approached her vehicle. The suspect attempted to assault the victim by reaching through a partially open window, but she avoided contact by closing the window and driving away. The subject drove away from the scene. The victim called police.
3. At about 9 p.m. on the night of June 22, a female victim was at a car wash in the 4200 block of Pleasant Valley Road when she was approached from behind by the suspect, who began to choke her. The victim was able to escape during the attack and called police. The suspect walked away from the scene.
None of the victims were seriously injured during the incidents. None of them reported that they knew or recognized the suspect.
In each case the suspect was described as a black male. Due to the circumstances of the incidents, it was difficult for the victims to estimate the suspect's height. He was said as having a slender to medium build.
In the first and third incidents, no suspect vehicle was seen. In the second incident, the subject was driving a light-colored, late model Chevrolet Impala.
