WAKE COUNTY, N.C. -

Exactly three years after a Wake County mother was beaten to death in her home, investigators said they could soon have some developments in the case.

Michelle Young was found dead inside her home in 2006, and her husband, Jason, is considered a person of interest.

In March, a judge ruled in a civil suit that Jason Young was responsible for his wife's death.

Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison said no one has yet been charged in the case.

Harrison said there has been a lot of evidence to work through, and he said the investigation is coming to a point where developments could soon happen.

He said he plans to meet with Wake County District Attorney Colon Willoughy during the coming weeks to make some decisions about the case.

"It's going to get to a point, it's close to that point, which direction are we going in? And I feel good about what we've got," he said.

Harrison said he's kept a picture of Michelle Young on his desk every day since her death.

"We are making progress," he said.
