WAKE COUNTY, N.C.

If you are looking for a cheap and entertaining evening out this weekend you should definitely check-out the Riverkeeper Film Festival.

Created in 2005, the Neuse Riverkeeper Film Festival has expanded its audience while maintaining a friendly, intimate atmosphere by selecting local community theater venues in the Neuse River basin. This coming weekend festival-goers in the Triangle, may be taken on a journey to the sea-loving nation of Vietnam in a new documentary by explorer Jon Bowermaster in Descending the Dragon, or may visit with New Zealand sand artist Peter Donnelly in Sand Dancer. Other highlights include three animated films featuring a penguin that loves to surf, two lovers separated by the sea, and a jazzy blend of art and music on the Yuba River.

This year's screening locations include the communities of Durham, Raleigh, Smithfield, Kinston, New Bern and Oriental.  Tickets for the entire evening are only $10 and include a wine and cheese reception at 6:30. For a full schedule, visit the website: www.neuseriver.org/events/filmfestival.html

The Neuse River Foundation is a non-profit created to protect, restore and preserve the Neuse River basin through education, advocacy and enforcement, in order to provide clean water for drinking, recreation and enjoyment to the communities that it serves.
