Rozlyn Sorrell, Founder/Director of Vocal Precision Studio (www.vocalprecision.com) produces an annual vocal showcase for aspiring artists. Due to the economic climate this country and community is currently experiencing; adjustments have been made to the format of the event this year. Instead of an eight-week group series, the workshop will be conducted with existing students.
Sorrell, a recipient of the 2008 Regional Artist Project Grant Program through the United Arts Council is a member of the Garner Chamber of Commerce and has worked with some of the most prominent and renown artists in the world; such as Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston, and others. Rozlyn also appeared as a featured soloist on the Hour of Power, and was a principal cast member in both the Glory of Christmas and Glory of Easter, at Robert Schuller's Crystal Cathedral for several years before locating to North Carolina.
The usual $25.00 application fee is being waived to encourage those with interest to enroll now. The same high quality instruction will be provided, but rather than eight weeks, there will be only two weeks of group instruction, which will include the dress rehearsal at the auditorium with the musicians. All other instruction will be provided during the student’s regularly scheduled private lesson. Each student will get exposure to prominent professionals in the industry that will provide expertise in their field of specialty. Whether novice, experienced or professional, a myriad of skills including improved breath control, increased stamina and vocal range, correcting challenges with pitch and vocal placement have been developed.
As a result of the format change, the cost of the workshop will be substantially reduced this year. The usual $350 fee has been reduced to $250; a bargain, to be featured on stage with live musicians in a professional hall. A $50.00 deposit will be required to hold a space for the October 24th event at the Garner Historic Auditorium by June 30th. Potential students are encouraged to register online at www.vocalprecision.com or call 919-665-4200 for more information. Interested parties are prompted to call today to secure their slot.
As a regularly featured soloist with the North Carolina Symphony you will be able to see and hear Rozlyn Sorrell on tour with them this fall during the Holiday Pops Concert Series. For more information about her performances, go to www.ncsymphony.org or her personal website www.rozlynsorrell.com.
