RALEIGH, N.C. -

Saint Augustine's College students came together Wednesday to celebrate the historic political win for Barack Obama.

Hundreds of students gathered to watch Obama's victory speech, some for the second time, and discuss election results. Students like Paige Hines said the campaign united people of all races and ages.

"I believe that the new voters put the votes over the top for Obama to win. I think it's important to talk about and get educated," Hines said.

Student Quinton Wilkinson agrees.

"We came together for one purpose and one vision for Senator Obama," Wilkinson said.

The students also said that it is important for the younger generation to be educated about the history of African Americans in this country to understand the significance of this political victory.
