GARNER, N.C. -

The Garner Citizen News and Times first reported that Mayor Ronnie Williams was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

The Garner Mayor said he's been on medication for about a week now and his symptoms seem to be under control.

He said that he hasn't seen any change in his ability to do anything and plans to continue working.

    Some symptoms are similar between the two, but they are not the same.

    I read somewhere that there is some similarity between Parkinson’s Disease and Alzheimers.Is it true?
