CUMBERLAND CO, N.C.

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is preparing for the "4th Annual Shop with the Sheriff Charity Ride."

On Saturday, September 19, 2009 hundreds of motorcycles and their riders will gather in the rear parking lot of the county courthouse. It's all part of a community wide effort to raise money for needy children this holiday season.

All Registration fees will go toward the annual "Shop with the Sheriff" event hosted by Sheriff Earl "Moose" Butler. Monies raised will provide toys, food and clothing this Christmas season for less fortunate children.

All those interested should report to the rear parking lot of the Cumberland County Courthouse on Saturday September 19th at 9:00 a.m. for registration. The ride begins promptly at 10:30 a.m. and ends at the Retired Military Association building on Old Elizabethtown Road, Fayetteville. Riders will cover about 90 miles of rural Cumberland County as well as neighboring counties. The cost per rider/passenger is 15 dollars each. Your registration fee includes a delicious lunch provided by Grandson Country Buffet. Participants may also purchase raffle tickets for door prizes.

For more information, contact Sgt. Evans at the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office at
(910) 988-9181.
