WAKE COUNTY, N.C.

Cary, N.C. (October 19, 2009)—The Mariposa School is pleased to announce its second annual Maripolooza, a family-friendly musical extravaganza coming to Koka Booth Amphitheater on Sunday, November 8th from 12 noon to 6 pm. The event is free and open to the public.

Billed as a Festicause, Maripolooza is a one of a kind opportunity for families to come together to enjoy great local music, a variety of food, and specialty vendors all for a great cause. The event raises money for the Mariposa School for Children with Autism, while also helping to raise awareness about autism.

The musical line up for the event features a wide range of talent including:

Mind the Gap—An RTP favorite comprised of IBMers who bring not only great sounds but a few surprises to each show.

Voices Together—A 12-member vocal ensemble who performs a variety of music from classical, to musical theater, sacred works, to songs of world cultures

Penne Sandbeck—featuring acoustic folks, Americana and folk blues

Matt Wilkerson—who brings together a wide range of musical genres- blues, rock, alt-country as well as traditional tunes

Braima Moiwai- a West African storyteller and drummer

Sea Cow—a five-piece band based in Durham, that plays original, rootsy, and danceable guitar-based rock

Ira Planer—who plays a combination of acoustic blues slide guitar with a rock fusion.

Come on out and get your groove on and support a great cause at the same time. For more information about the event visit www.maripolooza.com or to learn more about The Mariposa School visit www.mariposaschool.org.
