Credit: AP Online
RALEIGH, N.C. -

Two lanes were closed on Western Boulevard near NC State for about two hours Friday morning after a pedestrian was hit by a car.

Officials say the accident happened shortly after 5:40 Friday morning at the intersection of Western Blvd. and Avent Ferry Rd.

Police say Latonya Lynnette McKoy, 22, was traveling East on Western Blvd. when she hit Rashid Pierre Riboul, 23, as he was crossing the street.  Police say McKoy was facing a green light.

According to authorities, McKoy didn’t slow down until after the impact, causing Riboul to travel a total of 171 feet.

As of Monday, July 28, Riboul is in good condition.

Authorities say McKoy will not be charged since she was facing a green light.
