Loretta Holt holds her 6-year-old foster son Quan, hoping she can make his dream to ride a bike a reality.

"I couldn't imagine waking up Christmas morning and not having the one thing he asked for," Holt said.

The challenge for Loretta is that Quan was injured in a car accident at 3 years old and is paralyzed from the waist down. The adaptive bike the boy needs cost more than $2,000. But Loretta still has hope with the help of local non-profit Dream to Reality.

Dream to Reality helps at-risk kids who are registered with the Department of Health and Human Services.

"Our goal for Quan is to help Santa get this bike for Christmas. What we need is for people to donate so we will have the funds to help Santa," said Rod Graff with Dream to Reality.

Brian Cornwele has been riding his adaptive bike for years. The bike is hand propelled and will adjust to fit Quan's body type throughout the years. Cornwell said it's more than just good exercise.

"I think for both his physical health and mental health and esteem, the ability to get out and interact with his peers would be a win-win," Cornwele

But Loretta said they do everything as a family, so if Quan gets a bike his three brothers will also get their Christmas wish.

"I can't wait to see the look on his face," Holt said.

With the bike Quan is also getting a mom. Loretta says she is in the process of adopting Quan and the papers will be finalized in about two months.
