RALEIGH, N.C. -
North Carolina State's Kellie Harper is preparing for her debut as the Wolfpack's coach.
Harper will lead N.C. State against Florida International on Friday night in the Wolfpack's season opener. It also marks the 32-year-old coach's first regular-season game on the sideline where
Kay Yow spent the past three decades building a Hall of Fame career.
Harper says she feels like there's so much to do that she'd love another month of practice. She also says she's usually so focused on the task at hand that she probably won't dwell about the enormity of replacing a legend in Yow, who died in January after a long fight against cancer.
N.C. State is hosting a four-team Wolfpack Invitational, which ends Saturday.
