The widower of a murdered Cary mother made his case to regain custody of their children in front of attorneys representing his in-laws.
Brad Cooper spoke at a deposition hearing Thursday in the on-going custody dispute.
One of the questions expected to be asked was whether he had anything to do with his wife Nancy's murder back in July.
A judge ruled on Monday that whether Brad Cooper played a role in Nancy's death would weigh on the outcome of the dispute.
Brad Cooper has consistently denied having any role in his wife's death.
After the deposition, Nancy's parents briefly talked with the media.
"We're really pleased with the work of our lawyers, Wake County police, the Cary police and also the D.A.'s office. We think we're making progress," said Garry Rentz, Nancy Cooper's father. "We can't say anything more than that right now.
Cary police have not named a suspect in the case.
