Cary police are investigating claims that a 12-year-old Sanford boy was molested in Cary.
Update: Cary Man Charged With Sex Crime Against Minor (08/07/08)
According to warrant records, the boy's parents reported him missing on July 13.
The paperwork says they found information on the boy's Myspace.com profile that led them to believe he was conversing online with an adult man.
The parents discovered a cell phone number for the man, and tried to reach him, but the person who answered said that nobody with that name was around, according to the warrant.
Shortly after that call, the filing indicates the boy returned home, and was taken to UNC Hospital, where a doctor discovered evidence of possible sexual abuse.
According to the paperwork, the boy told investigators that he woke up on the man's couch around 2 a.m. to find the man "sucking on his neck."
Police served a warrant at the man's Cary apartment on Brook Arbor Drive, looking for computers, DVDs, cameras, external hard drives and any other items that could have evidence of sexual abuse.
In other paperwork related to the investigation, on July 24 the man told investigators that his main income source was performing sexual acts online with his web cam; he said his roommate did the same thing.
The man told police he had seen his roommate bring younger boys to the apartment, according to the filing, but believed they were all 16 or older.
According to the warrant, when police informed the man they were taking his computer, the man called his roommate and said they were taking his computer as well. His roomate said, "If they find my hard drive then I am screwed."
Police confiscated five computer hard drives, one DVD, a camera and two camera memory cards.
Workers at the apartment complex say the man has not been seen in several days.
