According to the Civil Court Clerk, attorney's for Nancy Cooper's family filed an amended motion for a psych evaluation of Brad Cooper. Attached to the motion was also a calendar request for the matter to be heard on Sept. 22.

Nancy Cooper was reported missing on July 12 after her husband said she didn't come home from her morning jog. On the evening of July 14, a man walking his dog called 911 to report a body found. The body was later determined to be that of the missing jogger.

Chief Pat Bazemore issued the following statement:
"On this, the one month anniversary of Nancy's murder, I want to express my absolute confidence that we will solve this terrible crime and bring the person or persons responsible to justice. While I will not comment on the specifics of our work, I will say that I am very pleased with the progress we're making and am very proud of the tireless and professional effort that is underway. Cary remains one of the safest communities in the nation, and I appreciate all the support we continue to receive from Nancy's family and friends, our citizens and the many agencies that are assisting us in this matter."

Police have yet to name a suspect or person of interest in Cooper's death.

If Brad hasn't been named a suspect, what gives the in-laws the right to take away his parental rights, and to have him forced to take a mental eval? If he is not a suspect, whi is he being treated like on?

A comment in the blog set up by friends of Nancy Cooper http://nancycooper.blogspot.com/ mentions that an online memorial site is in development, and may be ready by week's end. Imorial is the online memorial service that was chosen. Hardly a woman I've spoken with hasn't felt tremendous fear and shock from what happened. Most say that they couldn't stop checking the news to find out what happened. It was traumatizing, and until we know what happened, and probably even when we know, it will still be traumatizing. Since news like this brings to the surface experiences we've had in the past, as well as what's happening in the present, you may need help processing the strong feelings that might have surfaced. If any of you who read this are experiencing or have suffered from violence from someone you know or a stranger, be it domestic or family violence, or sexual assault or abuse, please know that Interact of Wake County http://www.interactofwake.org/ is available to offer safety, support and education. The crisis lines below are 24-hour hotlines. All parties involved should have psych evaluations if Brad Cooper has one.
