FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. -

People looking for a home in the Fuquay-Varina area now have the option of going green.

The homes will be located in the Ridge at Kenneth Creek and will include a 21-acre park.

There will be grand-opening events on Nov. 15 and 16 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The current models in the neighborhood are inspired by the "Not So Big House" movement that provides value by focusing on quality over quantity.

The homes are Green Certified, Energy Star and resource-efficient.

As Energy Star homes, owners can expect to save up to 30 percent on utility bills every year.

"We are excited about our opening in Fuquay-Varina. Our homes are close to charming shops and restaurants in the bustling downtown," Steve Smalto, co-founder and owner of Homequest, said. "As with our other homes, our commitment to green, energy-efficient quality homebuilding creates security and value for our clients and their families."

"We believe innovation and sensible design can work together so that our homes are beautiful and energy efficient," Brad Greene, co-founder and owner, said.

The Ridge at Kenneth Creek Community is located at 733 Leatherstone Lane.
