WAKE COUNTY, N.C. -

Officials have confirmed that the body found Wednesday afternoon in Apex is that of missing Apex teen Matthew Silliman.

A Silver Alert was issued for Silliman after he was reported missing by his parents. Read more about the Silver Alert issued for Silliman here.

Four teenagers have been arrested and charged with his death.  Today a judge refused bond to the teens. Their next court appearance is set for Dec. 22.

Allegra Rose Dahlquist, 17, from Cary; 18-year-old Ryan Patrick Hare, of Apex; 16-year-old Drew Logan Shaw of Apex; and Aadil Shahid Kahn, 17, of Apex were all arrested and charged with murder. Kahn and Dahlquist are both seniors at Apex High School. Shaw is a student at Panther Creek High School, the same school where Hare was enrolled until he dropped out in February.

Silliman's Facebook page lists all four suspects as his friends.

"Anytime you have young people involved in something like this it's always shocking, and you hate to see it. It's just families ruined," said Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison.

"We always have to be careful to draw the right conclusion, and wait until evidence comes out to see what the truth it," said Joe Cheshire, Allegra Dehlguist's Lawyer.

One of the suspects, Drew Shaw, had a friend show up in court.

"He's a really good kid, after you guys get to know him, all these people are like saying gothic kids are the reason for all this, it's not," said Billy Schenck.

In Apex, students at Apex High School are still trying to deal with the situation.

"Shocked and just really saddened, just deeply saddened that any of our students are involved," said Matt Wight, Apex High School Principal.

Councilors were on hand at Apex High where two of the suspects went to school.

According to Silliman's facebook page, he was also a student at the school.

Two of the suspects were also associated with Panther Creek High School, one a student, another one a drop-out, officials there declined to comment on Thursday.

Apex Police received a call Tuesday night about a body found at 4221 Olive Branch Lane in New Hill.

Bianka Larouche, a senior at Apex High, said she is in disbelief.

"This does shock me a lot because Apex kids here seem to be pretty nice. Never thought something this big would happen," Larouche said.

She said she knew Dahlquist from school.

"It's a terrifying thought you'd never thought, of course Apex you know, it's surprising; such a small town and usually pretty friendly," she said.

A representative with the district said this is a serious matter and they are cooperating with authorities.
