InterAct will host two events in the 2009 Authors Series, featuring Fuquay-Varina author Lila Hopkins.

InterAct will host the Authors Series events every three months in Raleigh and Fuquay-Varina to provide a chance for the community to hear from a local author and learn about InterAct's services for families impacted by domestic violence and rape/sexual assault.

Meet award-winning author Lila Hopkins from Fuquay-Varina. She will share her latest novel, "The Master Craftsman." Hopkins was recently honored with the Book of the Year Award in Family Drama by the High Country Writer's Club for "The Master Craftsman." Her first two novels, "Weave Me A Song" and "Strike a Golden Chord" previously won the book of the year awards from that group. Hopkins also writes a regular column for the Fuquay-Varina Independent.

Set in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina, "The Master Craftsman" is a heartwarming novel of father-son relationships and the incredible gift of love. The drama intensifies as the protagonist faces death if he does not receive a kidney transplant. His life can be saved by an unthinkable sacrifice from his son. Like Hopkins' other novels, it tells the story from a Christian perspective.
