Day-to-day life can get extremely stressful. No matter what our specific responsibilities may be, it's no secret that we all need a break from time to time. When life seems like it will never slow down, take a trip out to Happy Trails Farm in Wake Forest. At Happy Trails life seems a little more tranquil. Maybe it's the beautiful animals, the good people or the awe-inspiring scenery? I have a good feeling that it's all three!
Happy Trails gave us a taste of everything country life has to offer! From majestic animals and wild irises to homemade jams and jellies, Happy Trials had it all!
The horses had to be the most exciting part of Happy Trails Farm. For just $20 an hour, my friends and I got to meander through the brush on a guided trail. We were led by a group of experienced staff who had been riding for their entire lives! Even though we were beginners, we were completely at ease. The staff was extremely knowledgeable, and the horses were so friendly. We couldn't have been in better hands!
Like people, the horses at Happy Trails definitely possessed distinctive personalities. In our group, American Quarter Horse Buddy seemed to be the most independent of the group. Stopping periodically to munch on grass, Buddy took every opportunity to satisfy his appetite. The Colonel was also a big eater. Besides being the tallest in our bunch, Happy Trail's website dubs The Colonel "a great leader." And who could forget Penny? With her laid back demeanor, Penny took on the air of a true lady.
Another popular attraction at Happy Trails Farm was the swimming pool. I can imagine a dip in the pool feeling like the ultimate relief after a long trail ride during the summer months! The staff let us know that we were welcome to bring a picnic lunch and hang out by the pool or playground
Happy Trails Farm would also be a great place to have a birthday party! Party packs are popular at the farm. After braving the riding trails, party groups have access to the farm's swimming pool and playground areas as well as the horseshoe, volleyball, tetherball and basketball courts.
Happy Trails Farm is located at 704 Dogwood Hill Lane in Wake Forest. Visit their website at www.happytrailsfarm.us for more information!
