Student Assignment Community Input Meeting Tonight

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. -

Weigh in on Wake County Public School System's proposed three-year student assignment plan.

The first of five community engagement meetings is Nov. 20, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the Knightdale High School auditorium.

A growth and planning staff member will be at each meeting half an hour before it begins to help people sign up for comment. Those who sign up, are asked to keep their comments under three minutes so that the meeting can end promptly at 9.

Staff will give an overview of the assignment planning process and policies, and then open the meeting for discussion.

Other upcoming engagement meetings are scheduled from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the following high school auditoriums:

Dec. 1 at Cary High
Dec. 3 at Wake Forest-Rolesville High
Dec. 4 at Holly Springs High
Dec. 8 at Broughton High

WCPSS staff members will accept suggestions and comments from the public through Dec. 10 at the community engagement meetings and online, before submitting final assignment recommendations to the school board in mid-December.
