The Cary Town Band presents concerts of a bygone era, featuring marches, circus music, waltzes, one and two-steps, rags, famous overtures and other music of the 1890s and early 1900s. Teenaged Menolly is a gifted musician, while her friend Tirolt hopes to become one of the planet's famed dragonriders. In their small-minded fishing village, girls are not allowed to become harpers, nor boys dragonriders, so Menolly and Tirolt must travel far from home to follow their hearts. But will they be allowed to realize their dreams? Dramatized by Irene Elliott from the popular book by Anne McCaffrey. Featuring original music by members of the Triangle Youth Symphony.
