APEX, N.C. -
The New Hope Valley Railway now has its caboose in place.
The caboose was shipped from Archdale, N.C. by truck, then it was lifted into place on the track in Bonsal by a crane. New Hope Valley Railroad Director Bob Cowley said the caboose weighs nearly 60,000 pounds and is 34 feet long.
Crowley said the railway will restore the cart and sometime in 2009 it will become part of their operating train.
