RALEIGH, N.C. -
This week, organizers will wrap up preparations for the 18th First Night Raleigh celebration on December 31, 2008.
The Acorn, which has been lowered to ring in the New Year every year at First Night Raleigh, has already been moved from its regular home in Moore Square Park to creator David Benson's home to be polished Monday, December 29.
Also, anyone interested in volunteering can still sign up, about 100 more volunteers are needed to make the event a success. Volunteers who work two-and-a-half to three hours get a free button and can sign up online by clicking here.
First Night Raleigh is a weatherproof event, taking place rain or shine!
