“Antiques Roadshow” is coming to Raleigh

When "Antiques Roadshow" is on, I become a cheerleader. I want that garage sale painting to be a long-lost Matisse. I want that trinket to be worth $150k because a a pilgrim carried it over on the Mayflower. So I'm excited to read a press release saying the show is coming here June 27. Here's the press release:

ANTIQUES ROADSHOW ANNOUNCES SUMMER 2009 TOUR PBS SERIES TO APPRAISE MORE THAN 60,000 TREASURES IN SIX CITIES

BOSTON, MA, January 5, 2009--ANTIQUES ROADSHOW, PBS's most-watched primetime series has announced its summer 2009 Tour destinations: Atlantic City, New Jersey; Raleigh, North Carolina; Madison, Wisconsin; Denver, Colorado; Phoenix, Arizona; and San Jose, California.
Programs taped in those locations will make up ROADSHOW's fourteenth broadcast season on PBS, airing in 2010.

ANTIQUES ROADSHOW's 2009 Tour features a series of local events at which top appraisers offer the public free evaluations of antiques and collectibles--revealing the often surprising history and value of these items.

ANTIQUES ROADSHOW 2009 stops and dates include:

Atlantic City, New Jersey - June 6, 2009 Raleigh, North Carolina - June 27, 2009 Madison, Wisconsin - July 11, 2009 Denver, Colorado - July 25, 2009 Phoenix, Arizona - August 1, 2009
San Jose, California    - August 15, 2009

Admission to ANTIQUES ROADSHOW events is free, but tickets are required and must be obtained in advance. Complete ticketing rules will be available beginning Monday, January 5, 2009, on ANTIQUES ROADSHOW Online at pbs.org/antiques or by dialing toll-free 1-888-762-3749. Ticket recipients will be selected at random from all eligible entries. Ticket holders are invited to bring two items for a free verbal evaluation. All ticket holders are guaranteed an appraisal.

In addition,  The ROADSHOW Furniture Roundup is looking for large pieces of furniture within 50 miles of each tour destination. Complete furniture submission rules are available online or by dialing the toll-free information line (see above).
