RALEIGH, N.C. -
Family, friends and community members will once again come together in honor and memory of Sadiki Young. The 18-year-old was a senior at Wakefield High School and member of Christ Episcopal Church, when he was killed as a passenger in a drunk driving accident in January 2007.
The Second Annual Run for Young is organized by church members, friends and area businesses. Those involved in the race hope to raise community awareness about the dangers of drinking and driving.
City Councilor Philip Isley will welcome race participants as it kicks off Sunday Jan. 11@ 2pm, at Christ Episcopal Church, at 120 E. Edenton St. in Raleigh. All proceeds go toward the Christ Church Youth Endowment Fund and Wakefield High School's Just Think First program.
