NC design and craft collective, The Handmaidens, announce the 7th semiannual installment of The Handmade Market.

The Handmade Market is a one-day, indoor designer craft fair and market featuring handcrafted goods from 50 local artists, designers and crafters. The event runs from 11 am until 5 pm on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Marbles Kids Museum (201 E. Hargett St.) in downtown Raleigh.Participating designers represent a diverse group of modern handcrafts including jewelry, baby and kids goods, men and women’s apparel, fashion accessories, home goods, fine art and stationery. Shop for unique Mother's Day and graduation gifts or find a special gift for yourself. In addition to the designer market, The Handmade Market features organic baked goods from Sweet T Cakery plus sweet and savory crepes from Cary’s Coffee & Crepes.The event also includes a fundraiser to benefit SAFEChild, an organization that works with parents, families and caregivers to create nurturing environments for children, free from abuse and neglect. Shoppers who make a suggestion donation of $3-$5 receive a free reusable tote bag and an entry in a raffle to win one of several gift basket filled with donations from our charity raffle sponsors.Since its inception in 2006, The Handmade Market quickly has become one of the Southeast’s most highly anticipated shopping events.
