About 100 arts advocates will descend on the state capital to attend workshops that lead up to ARTS Day 2009, sponsored by ARTS North Carolina.
Events begin Tuesday at the North Carolina Museum of History with workshops on advocacy and on financial planning during a recession. Commerce Secretary Keith Crisco and Cultural Resources Secretary Linda Carlisle are scheduled to speak at the latter event.
Then, about 240 people are scheduled to attend ARTS Day 2009 on Wednesday. They'll participate in legislative training Wednesday morning, then visit lawmakers later in the day.
