Three To Join NCSU Hall Of Fame

RALEIGH, N.C. -

Chris Cammack will be inducted to the NC State Baseball Hall of Fame. Cammack, along with Mike Caldwell and Coach Sam Esposito, will be the first three inductees to the newly established Hall of Fame.

The ceremony will take place at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Doak Field on NC State's West Campus, located at 1050 Varsity Dr. 

During Cammack's career with the Wolfpack from 1968-71, he accomplished the following:

· Cammack was ACC Player of the Year in 1969.

· Cammack also played on the only College World Series team in State's history in 1968. The Wolfpack came in third in the country.

· Cammack was named Third-Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball in 1968 and 1969 and Second-Team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association in 1969.

· Cammack is one of four players in history to be named First-Team All-ACC four times.

· Cammack led the ACC in hitting in 1969 and 1971, and he still holds the NC State Single-Season Record.

· Cammack still ranks in NC State's career top 20 for batting average.

· Cammack was a member of Team USA in 1969.


During Caldwell's career with the Wolfpack from 1968-71, he accomplished the following:

· Caldwell posted a 32-10 career record.

· Caldwell was a first-team All-ACC selection in 1970 and '71.

· Caldwell was the 1971 ACC Player of the Year.

· Caldwell pitched the only College World Series team in State's history in 1968. The Wolfpack came in third in the country.

· Caldwell was named one of the ACC's 50 all-time greatest players.

 
During Esposito's career with the Wolfpack, he accomplished the following:

· Esposito coached for 21 seasons.

· Esposito lead the Wolfpack to a 1968 ACC championship.

· Esposito won a NCAA District III title.

· Esposito coached the Wolfpack to a third-place finish in the 1968 College World Series..

· Esposito took home three league titles in a row: 1973-75 seasons

· Esposito was named ACC Coach of the Year in 1984 and ‘86
