A North Carolina-based community access channel is marking 10 years of service with a celebration.
The People's Channel celebrated its birthday Saturday afternoon in Chapel Hill.
Chad Johnson, who runs the Chapel Hill-based channel, told WUNC-FM his group works hard to be a true reflection of the community.
Johnson says public access television allows the community to talk directly to itself. He said his channel can go out and photograph a holiday parade, and the people who marched in it have the chance to see themselves. He said when members of his church's congregation can't attend the worship service, he can bring it to their homes through the channel.
