More Than 100 Teens Expected In Attendance At "Austin Jade Fashion Rocks" July 6-10, 2009 Raleigh, NC

RALEIGH, NC—(June 1, 2009) - Local fashion designer Austin Jade Murray brings teens what they crave: the inside scoop on the fast-paced and cut-throat fashion industry with her 2009 summer camp "Austin Jade Fashion Rocks".

Campers will gain real world experience from assisting in the selection of the color palette for the Austin Jade Fall 2010 collection to learning how to design their own collection and much more from Murray and her team of industry professionals. The five-day camp is the first of its kind where campers learn how to design a real collection, and one talented student will even have his/her design chosen to be a part of the next Austin Jade Collection, publicized and distributed nationally.

Campers will learn from the best as the Austin Jade brand has garnered a strong celebrity following, national publicity and prestigious distribution throughout the United States, including Ritz Carlton Hotels, and abroad with retailers in Puerto Rico and St. Tropez.

The Cary native hopes her recent success will continue to help put North Carolina on the fashion industry map and spotlight the South as a breeding ground for other local talent. To foster these ambitions, Murray is launching the sophomore edition of "Austin Jade Fashion Rocks", North Carolina's fashion camp for teens. Held daily from July 6 -10th, Murray expects an attendance of approximately 100 youth from all over the country and the surrounding areas who are passionate about learning the world of fashion.

Murray, and teachers from acclaimed fashion design institutions, will guest speak along with fashion industry insiders. The program will give participants a better understanding of the fashion industry and guide them in making educated choices when pursuing future careers.

"I attended the first Fashion Rocks camp this past winter and as a result I am now working in the industry," reveals Sam Tate, a local 17-year-old. "Jade's camp gave me the background I needed to boost my confidence and jump right into an exciting industry I had only dreamed about until today."

Austin Jade Fashion Rocks starts July 6th and runs through July 10th. Campers meet each day from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Graduation day will include a "camp finale" fashion show scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at the Commons Building Gardens where the campers will produce a real runway show in every aspect from styling, professional hair and make-up, modeling and more. The fashion show is open to the public for $5 per person and will coincide with an Austin Jade trunk show featuring summer collections discounted up to 50 percent off. The proceeds from the fashion show will go towards a scholarship program for aspiring design students.

Interested teens can take advantage of early registration by June 30th to receive a discounted tuition rate of $163. Applications submitted in July are $179. Tuition includes lunch, materials and a limited edition Austin Jade Fashion Rocks camp tee.
