Man’s best friend was certainly in for a treat at Cary’s 2nd Annual Dog Days of June event held Saturday, June 6, 2009 from 9:00am to 1:00pm. For free, area dog owners brought their four-legged friends to the Fred G. Bond Metro Park for a fun filled day of contests, vendors, and opportunities to be microchipped and vaccinated.

Canines of all types were in attendance. Both large and small, there was something for every type. If you thought your home had enough furry creatures, adoption agencies provided event goers with the opportunity to take home a dog or cat in need of good care. For owners whose dog has an obedience problem, a solution could be found at the event as representatives from obedience classes were present. Chic and fashionable dogs definitely had a lot to choose from as vendors selling clothing and accessories were on hand.

The event didn’t just cater to pets. Families could participate and possibly win in raffles, listen to great music, and satisfy their hunger with amazing food. All around, this event had something for everyone!
