In the spirit of community and the healing process, local community and clergy leaders from Wake and Johnston counties will host a candlelight vigil on Friday at 8 p.m. at Wake Baptist Grove located at 302 E Main Street in Garner.
Terence K. Leathers, Pastor of Mount Vernon Christian Church will lead the vigil that will also include Poplar Springs Christian Church of Raleigh; Wake Baptist Grove Church of Garner; Springfield Baptist Church of Raleigh; Macedonia New Life Church of Raleigh as well as other community members who have been shaken by this unfortunate event.
"We have several members of our congregation that work for ConAgra," said Leathers. "Thank God they're alright, but our hearts are with those who have had family members injured or killed."
The public is strongly encouraged and invited to attend. Please bring your own candles and come out in large measure to show support to all involved.
"Prayers and continuous support will be needed in the days and months to come. We want them to know that they are not alone," Leathers said.
Congressman Bob Etheridge and Garner Mayor Ronnie Williams will join the vigil.
