The Boys & Girls Clubs serving Wake County announces the receipt of $40,000 from the Continuous Blessings Foundation.

Funding is directed towards the Zebulon Boys & Girls Club as part of an agreement that the Continuous Blessings Foundation and the Boys & Girls Clubs reached last year.

A celebration will be held on Wednesday, July 1 at 8 a.m. at its current location on 1010 Shepard School Road, Zebulon.

In continuation of the agreement, the donation is directed at the naming rights for both the present facility, located at the Zebulon Middle School, and the future gymnasium that will be part of the construction of a permanent Boys & Girls Club in Zebulon.

The Clubhouse, named after Chris Bunn, is housed in a 3,600-square-foot building and serves roughly 90 children and teenagers per day from Monday to Friday.

Additionally, the Continuous Blessings Foundation has agreed to commit funding toward the sponsorship of the Zebulon Boys & Girls Club's day camping session at Camp BTI from June 29 - July 2, 2009. A minimum of 60 campers from the Zebulon Boys & Girls Club will be transported to and from camp daily, served a nutritious breakfast and lunch and enjoy a full day of camping activities. Canoeing, archery, swimming, climbing, crafts and sports will be all part of a fun-filled week.

Last year, the Continuous Blessings Foundation invested $50,000 toward the foundation's desire to contribute $200,000 over the next four years which reserves the naming rights to the gymnasium in the new facility.

The Continuous Blessings Foundation will use the naming rights to perpetuate the memory of former Zebulon resident Chris Bunn, who passed away in 2007 from cancer. Mr. Bunn was active in sports in the area, excelling in basketball, football and baseball. He played football and baseball at Virginia Military Institute and was a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch.

The Continuous Blessings Foundation was formed in memory of Chris Bunn with the stated intent "to meet the needs and create opportunities in the lives of youth in the greater Raleigh, NC area." The foundation is led by a board of directors consisting of close friends and family members of Chris.
