RALEIGH, N.C. -
A portion of I-440 Inner was reduced to one lane between Capital Blvd. and Wake Forest Road due to an accident involving at tractor trailer truck at 10:32 a.m. Friday.
Police said Paul Gillingham of Buffalo Junction, Va., was driving the tractor trailer truck on the ramp from Capitol Boulevard to the inner loop of Interstate 440. On the ramp, his high rate of speed caused the truck's load to shift. The truck tipped over onto its left side and rolled.
No other vehicles were involved and there were no serious injuries.
Motorists traveling the inner loop of I-440 near Capital Boulevard experienced heavy delays. The area was cleared by 3:30 p.m.
