Police in Raleigh need the public's help in locating the vehicle of a woman they found dead inside her apartment.

According to the press release, shortly after 10 a.m. police responded to a check-on-welfare call at 3939-133 Wake Forest Road shortly after a family member said they were unable to contact the resident.

Upon entering, officers located the body of 60-year-old Patsy Eason Barefoot inside the apartment. Neither the manner nor the cause of death has been determined.

A vehicle owned by Barefoot was not at the apartment complex when officers arrived, and the department is requesting public assistance in the effort to locate it. The vehicle is a silver 2002 Ford Focus that is similar to the car in the above photo. It bears N.C. license plate RNY-5847
