Police have arrested on man suspected in the gunpoint robbery of a Comfort Inn.
Clarence Leon Davis, 20, of West Piedmont Street was arrested Wednesday and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a dangerous weapon inflicting serious injury and felony conspiracy.
Davis was also arrested Wednesday afternoon on charges stemming from an armed home invasion July 14.
In the Comfort Inn robbery, police said two males entered the Comfort Inn, 3508 Mount Moriah Road, at around 5:40 p.m. and robbed the business at gunpoint.
One male employee was shot in the hip during the robbery. The employee was taken to Duke University Hospital for treatment.
The males ran out of the business and got in a white Nissan Maxima occupied by a third male.
On the July 14 home invasion, police said the residents of a Nation Aveneu home (two adult females and an infant) told officers that at least three males broke into their home shortly before 2 a.m. and robbed them at gunpoint.
The suspects fled with phones and two flat screen television sets. Davis was charged with one count of felony conspiracy, three counts of second-degree kidnapping, one count of first-degree burglary and one count of larceny. He was placed in Durham County Jail under a $1 million bond for the charges from both Nation Avenue and Comfort Inn.
Investigators are also trying to locate Adrian Whoie, who is also charged with committing the armed home invasion on Nation Avenue.
Whoie, 26, of Iveywood Lane is charged with felony conspiracy, first-degree burglary, larceny and three counts of second-degree kidnapping. He is also wanted for failure to appear in court on earlier charges.
