On Saturday, July 18th nine photography enthusiasts wandered the streets of Smithfield, North Carolina in search of just the right subject to shoot in hopes that his/her BEST photograph is the "one", the one chosen to be entered into Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photo Walk contest. The winner receives an amazing array of prizes including:a Nikon D-700 SLR and zoom lenses as well as a year of training through Kelby Training, Scott Kelby's company, among other fantastic prizes. Ten honorable mentions receive Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2, a year's membership in the NAPP, 100 istock photo credits, and several other equally great prizes.

This was the Second Annual Worldwide Photo Walk. Last year's event was such a success that Kelby and his team just had to do it again this year. With over 900 cities throughout the world participating with each scheduled two-hour Walk allowing only up to 50 participants, you can imagine that's a whole LOT of photos! The 2008 Photowalk garnered over 1 million photographs shot worldwide in one day.

This year, to put Smithfield, North Carolina on the map, I thought the world should see all that Smithfield and Johnston County has to offer so I applied to be a Leader for the annual event. Thankfully, the weather cooperated and all nine of us had a fantastic time exploring the area in a whole new way. Some of my best shots from the day are above.
