GARNER, N.C.

Special "Garner Business" Section Highlights Town's Business Climate

Garner, N.C. - Summer is about to get better for readers of Triangle East magazine, as they read about the area's women leaders, Teen Model Contest winners, and summer activities like backyard gardening and getting fit at a new recreational facility in Smithfield.

Triangle East's Summer 2009 issue celebrates sisterhood with profiles of four female movers and shakers: Amy White of the Garner Chamber of Commerce, Linda Johnson of East Wake Education Foundation, Lorrie Hargreaves with First Citizens Bank, and April Culver of Johnston Health. An article entitled "The Sisterhood" shines a light on women-only business networking groups.

Celebrating Summer

As local teens enjoy the last month of summer, they're also excited about new back-to-school fashions. Four area teenagers are featured in a fashion spread as winners of Triangle East's Teen Model Contest: Ashley Denton of Zebulon, Monique Neal of Smithfield, Grant Griffin of Wendell and Christina Chinnis of Clayton.

"Our Teen Model Contest winners had a great time at our fashion shoot and really look wonderful in the latest styles," said Triangle East Editor Nancy Pardue. "In addition to being featured in the magazine, each received a Teen Prize Pack with products and gift certificates donated by local businesses."

Parents looking for family-friendly activities can read about "Growing Groceries" in the backyard garden, preserving herbs for future culinary endeavors, the "unplugged" appeal of The Game Connection gaming store in Knightdale, and the various activities and amenities of the new Smithfield Recreation & Aquatics Center.

Garner Business

The issue's special "Garner Business" section lists the town's 25 most influential businesses, along with business briefs and stats, and a special article on how town and Chamber officials work together to promote economic development. Town Manager Hardin Watkins, Economic Development Director Tony Beasley and Chamber of Commerce President Neal Padgett work hard to ensure that Garner remains "A Great Place to Be" even as it continues to grow.

As an added bonus to this jam-packed issue, Triangle East also offers special Online Extras. Icons throughout the magazine point readers toward this additional content at www.triangleeastmagazine.com, where they can also sign up for Triangle East's e-newsletters.
