In remembrance of the events of June 9, ConAgra Foods is hosting a dedication ceremony and picnic for Garner plant employees and their families, as well as residents of the Garner community.

The ceremony will include a memorial plaque dedication, donations presented to community organizations and memorial balloon release.

Food and refreshments will be provided by ConAgra Foods, Carolina BBQ and Barry's Café. This is an alcohol-free event.

Entertainment for families include balloon artists and face painting, as well as musical performance by Liquid Pleasure.

It will take place on Saturday, Aug. 22 at Lake Benson Park, Shelter 1 at 921 Buffaloe Road in Garner.

There will be a dedication ceremony and balloon release will be held from 11 - 11: 45 a.m.

The event will go until 3 p.m.

Community members are asked to make a $5 donation to the United Way ConAgra Foods Garner Plant Fund to receive a bracelet for entry. Entry bracelets will be available on-site at the event and also at the following locations before the picnic:
