NC State will hold three open forums with faculty, staff, and students to discuss what qualities the next chancellor should possess.
Former chancellor James Oblinger resigned in June following questions about the hiring of former first lady Mary Easley.
Oblinger, former Provost Larry Nielson and State Auditor Beth Wood have all been subpoenaed because of questions surrounding Mary Easley's hiring and hefty pay raise at NC State.
"Our commitment is to identify everything we possibly can that's related to the issue on the table," said Interim Chancellor Jim Woodward.
In the meantime Mrs. Easley is challenging NC State's decision to fire her. The university said last month she has filed a formal grievance over the termination of her contract.
Today's forums kick off at 12:30 p.m. with the staff forum followed by one for faculty, and then a forum for students.
Another forum will be held at 6 p.m. for alumni and the general public at the McKimmon Center.

I can only hope that you find a prospect for Chancellor as fine a person as Chancellor Oblinger. He has been one of North Carolina State's best. This message is coming from a UNC graduate.
